The set consists of a DVD with nine contemporary original short films created by the young Russian film-makers and an exercise book with the full scripts of the films, the assignments, and the keys. Each film draws a picture of modern life and people's relationships, it is a reflection and understanding of the Russian reality. The films also bring up topical questions and problems that come along. The young people and teenagers in the films use spoken Russian in their everyday life. Some of the films provided in the course have been shortlisted for cinematography awards at various film festivals and have won prizes.
The set is aimed at foreign students learning Russian with an intermediate / upper intermediate knowledge of the language (B1/B2 of the CEFR or Level I / Level II of the TORFL). It is designed to develop the language speaking skills of the students, to enrich their vocabulary, and also to make them familiar with the modern Russian realities.
