Paul and Virginie Madame de la Tour and Marguerite, two women rejected by society, left their country and settled in the island of France (now Mauritius). They live simply and raise their two children, Paul and Virginie, together, far from the dangers of civilization. Paul is generous and sensitive, Virginie virtuous and beautiful.
