Ian is from Glasgow. He has just moved to Edinburgh with his father. He doesn't like anything about Edinburgh and is struggling to fit in at a new school with his Glasgow accent and dyslexia. Jessie lives with her mother in Edinburgh. Everything Jessie does is wrong - no matter how helpful she is at home. Upcycling clothes and literature keep her happy, but she has to hide the literature from her friends because it's really not cool. They are as different as the way fish and chips are served in Glasgow and Edinburgh, but as Ian and Jessie overcome personal challenges, their relationship grows.
