For the third time, an international conference focusing on the principles of living legal history was held in Innsbruck, Austria, providing intercultural perspectives of culture of the ancient Mediterranean basin and western Asia. The theme of the conference was "Human and divine ideals of justice in the ancient Orient and ancient Greece." Individual contributions focus on ancient Sumer, Babylonia, Assyria, and ancient Egypt, as well as on Classical and Archaic Greece and pre-Islamic Iran. All contributions revolve around the interdisciplinary question of the origin and justification of law in the respective societies of the Ancient World. German text.
