Vocabulary book in French as a foreign language (FLE), in the Explained collection , for older adolescents and adults, beginner level.
This work deals with vocabulary from a morphological, semantic and idiomatic angle.
Organized and methodical, the Explained French Vocabulary is made up of three main parts:
Words are formed: prefixes, suffixes, compound words;
We understand the words: synonyms, antonyms, homonyms;
We enter the language: idiomatic turns, shifts in meaning.
Within these 3 main parts, each unit and chapter is composed as follows:
A text, which often presents a subject of everyday life. Sometimes, following the text, one will find notes which specify the meaning of the new word, or which provide a simpler grammatical explanation;
we summarize: here, we take the words that we want to study and which are noted in bold or in color in the text. These words are put in context and explained through examples and sometimes drawings. We have reduced the theoretical discourse as much as possible so as not to discourage the student;
we learn by heart: these are small texts which take up in rhymed form the terms and expressions which are the subject of the study of the chapter. These texts, easy to repeat, will allow the student to assimilate the new words discovered in these chapters.
The lexicon presented in this work is that of everyday life.
