Jusepe Martínez is an Aragonese painter who wins the admiration of King Felipe IV, who, over time, appoints him as his chamber painter. During his stay in Madrid he will meet important personalities, such as Velázquez, Alonso Cano or Pacheco (Velázquez's teacher), and other well-known painters. Both Jusepe and his assistant, Daniel, will learn about life in the town and court of Madrid and the secrets, envy and betrayals that take place in it.
